Find the title before the subtitle track
Begin with the film or series name and release year. A subtitle track belongs to a particular edition. Similar titles, remakes and alternate edits can make a subtitle search confusing if the production has not been identified first.
Choose text that suits how you watch
Subtitles translate dialogue; closed captions may also describe sound and speaker changes. In the active player, inspect its language menu and choose the track that meets your needs. Availability differs between editions and services, even for the same movie.
When subtitles are not working
Check whether the track is selected and whether it is visible against the current scene. Where supported, adjust text size, outline or background. For a timing mismatch, try another supplied track or the player’s offset setting. If it has no such control, use the viewing service’s help.

A text size that is comfortable on a laptop may be too small across a room. Check a dialogue scene after changing devices.
